Why Giving Matters
Giving is the heart of God. The Bible is filled with countless examples of sacrificial giving. The Father gives us a new heart rooted in giving. Scripture shows:
John 3:16 - "God... gave His Only Son..."
Acts 20:35 - "I have shown you in every way, by laboring like this, that you must support the weak. And remember the words of the Lord Jesus, that He said, ‘It is more blessed to give than to receive."
1Timothy 6:17-18 - " Command those who are rich in this present age not to be haughty, nor to trust in uncertain riches but in the living God, who gives us richly all things to enjoy. Let them do good, that they be rich in good works, ready to give, willing to share."
Hebrews 13:16 - "But do not forget to do good and to share, for with such sacrifices God is well pleased."
Proverbs 11:24-25 - " There is one who scatters, yet increases more; and there is one who withholds more than is right, but it leads to poverty. The generous soul will be made rich, and he who waters will also be watered himself."
2Corinthians 9:6-7 - "But this I say: He who sows sparingly will also reap sparingly, and he who sows bountifully will also reap bountifully. So let each one give as he purposes in his heart, not grudgingly or of necessity; for God loves a cheerful giver."
